I was out and about yesterday at an appointment I had. I had a few other errands to run as well and I did this for several hours with a terrible headache. I wasn’t dressed too badly, not as badly as the day before. I had no make up on and my hair was pulled back. Despite the clothes being kinda cute, I looked terrible. I felt terrible. I had a headache that would not go away. I haven’t been drinking much water lately and I could see that lack of water in my skin. I looked exactly how I felt… worn down and in pain.
I found some Tylenol at the checkout counter at Publix and took some hoping that would help. Thank God the grocery store was my last stop… sort of. The gas light came on. I just really wanted to get home. Ugh! I stopped for gas. Then, I remembered I needed to check the mail. I went to the post office. Finally! I’m on my way home now… for real. Like, really going home.
Clay helped me bring in the few groceries I bought and the bag of material from Hobby Lobby 😉 (I’m a little addicted to both material and Hobby Lobby). He then asked Emma if she wanted him to heat her up a piece of pizza. I thought “wow! I can go put my jammies on instead of making dinner”. Not the case. Nobody wanted left over pizza. I whipped up a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup… and then… put on my jammies. Finally! Woo Hoo! Pajamas, I love you! This is how I felt! I felt tired and ready for my PJ’s, so I put them on after running around half the evening.
We have a new faux leather line at Thirty-One. The purses and wallets are gorgeous. As I was looking just like I felt yesterday, I read a post from another Director who said that the new Jewell by Thirty-One line has given her herself back! She now dresses cuter because she carries the purses we sell. That has lead her to going to the gym again because her nicer clothes were a little snug. She ended with “A purse really can change lives”. I loved it! Yes, because I sell the bags too, but more because we always dress how we feel.
What are you wearing today? How are you feeling today both physically and spiritually? What attitude do you have on today?
We wear who we are. We wear how we feel. We wear our time with Jesus or our lack there of. We wear our circumstances.
What are you wearing today?
Put on the full armor of God. Wear your best. Be your best for Him. Have your attitude reflect Him for you and for your family and coworkers. Put a bouquet of flowers in your hands for your wife. Lay a Bible open in your lap. Place a smile on your face for your husband when he comes home and for your children as they call out “Mama, Daddy” one more time today.
