Overly Excited Hope

I remember sitting in camp meetings, tent revivals, Huge youth conferences, church, etc… With this huge desire and hope that God would have a word for me from the person preaching or praying over me. It happened several times, but most often than not, it didn’t happen. I remembered feeling like God had nothing for me and He forgot I was going to be at that place during that time! That must have been the case!

This pressure we put on God to be and do as we want him to when we want Him to is rediculous! The truth is, He is always in me and with me. There is always something to hear from God whether it’s what to do or what not to do. He uses all sorts of vessels to speak to us. It doesn’t have to be a preacher or coordinator of an event. God can use an overhead announcement, a message written on a mirror, a message from a pulpit, a friend calling to check on you or just say hi! When you are available for God, He can use anything to speak to you. Yes!… Anything!

Your hope should not be overly excited waiting on God to come down on His beautiful white horse and line everything up in your life so perfect that you never stumble and you always know what’s next! Your hope should be grounded in the Lord knowing He has a plan and though you may take a left turn instead of a right turn, eventually, with his guidance you’ll come out on the correct road again!

Today, I encourage you to have hope in the fact that God has everything under control. He knows what your heart’s desire is… He put those desires in there! He’ll fulfill what He has promised! Lastly, be ready for His answers when He gives them to you and be ready to do what He says to do When He says to do it!

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT)
