I LOVE this scripture!! 🙂 haha… When things come against me and especially when those things turn into a forgiveness type situation (continually), I remind myself of this scripture!!
This week has been all about seperating ourselves from negativity as much as possible while still walking in love. I’ve also reminded everyone that love is walking in forgiveness. Today, I want to share with you the definition of Love according to the Bible. If you are a Christian… This is what you should use to gage your love meter. If you’re reading and you’re not a Christian, or you haven’t really been acting like Jesus would want you to, this is a great “go to” scripture to get you on the right track!
I’m typing it line by line to give you a time of reflection! What does each sentence of this scripture mean to you? How might you be able to turn up your Love button a bit? How might you change how you react to things that don’t make you happy? How might you choose differently to treat others… Especially the man who is living on the side walk and hasn’t bathed in a few years?! Or the rude lady at the check out counter… The crazy driver who cut you off… The person who won’t do what you want them to do… Etc.
Love: 1 Corinthians 13: 4 – 8
New Living Translation or “NIV”
Love is patient
Love is kind
It does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude
It is not self-seeking
It is not easily angered
It keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects
Love never fails
But where there are prophesies, they will cease
Where there are tongues, they will be stilled
Where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
Today, I encourage you to love.
