I mentioned establishments that use scare tactics to keep people fearful of leaving a few blogs ago. I would like to talk about that a little further if you don’t mind. I want to reiterate that life is in God’s hands, not man’s. Here are two really great scriptures, one of which I found while looking for something else in the bible a couple of days ago and thought it would be a great one to share concerning this issue!
1. Romans 14:7-10
“For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. If we live; we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
So, in life and in death we belong to the Lord! So… our life belongs to the Lord, right? 🙂 Right!
Even if you are in sin when you leave a job or church, etc…, meaning someone accuses you of “leaving the wrong way” or you lash out at someone or those that are left there feel you should have stayed too… God is not going to strike you down dead! It doesn’t make since and there is no scripture to back that up. Furthermore, if this were the case I think we can all agree that all of us would be dead by now for much worse!
Because Jesus died on Calvary for us, we are free from condemnation and we are free from slavery to sin. We are also free from the wages of sin which lead to death! No one on this Earth is without sin, but having a repentive heart and right relationship with Christ, guarantees you his grace, mercy, and forgiveness and a place in Heaven with him!
God never said “if you make a mistake or do something someone else doesn’t like, you’re going to loose your salvation or I’m not going to protect you anymore”… He never said it and its not the truth! If God’s opinion of us was so easily swayed according to our behavior (good or bad) he would not have sent his only son to die a horrible death, or any other kind for that matter, for each of us!! In fact, if you believe otherwise you are emptying the cross of Christ of its power meaning it was all done in vein! Remember the scripture I posted yesterday about Paul being sent to preach but not baptize…
1 Corinthians 1:17 “… -Preach the gospel – not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power”
I encourage you to hold fast to the written Word of God again today, not to human opinions and scare tactics that cause fear. Don’t fall into the arms of human wisdom, they will fall short every time! God is so much bigger and greater than a bunch of nonsense that doesn’t line up with the Word! Lastly, don’t live a life that causes you to empty the cross of Christ of its power in your life! He is all powerful! It’s all in his hands!
