Trendy Church 3

I feel the Lord saying to me that if every one of my readers sends in 1,101.00 Clay and I will be debt free! OK! I repent! The Lord did not actually say that! I just figured up our bills and divided by my highest number of readers! But hey! If you would like to contribute to our mortgage fund… Be my guest! LOL!!!

I absolutely believe in a profetic word! And on the other side of that, Clay and I have always tithed and we are not afraid to give! In fact, we love to give! But, this is what we all have to watch out for and seek God about… Is this “profetic” word from God or man?

With some “ministries”, this profetic word to send in $500.00 on the 500th day of the Lord is just what it sounds like 😉

First of all, let’s look at a profetic word. A word spoken to you by a pastor, bishop, profet, etc… Should be a confirmation to you! It should be a word that matches up with something you know God has spoken to you and promised you already. A profetic word from God could also be encouraging to you after a terrible situation you’ve been in. A profetic word could be a warning to you that you need to stop what you’ve been doing behind closed doors cause time’s a-runnin’ out for ya! Lastly, it could be one that God gives you and you’re not sure what it’s about yet, but you know you need to hold on to it and seek His face and wait on him. To be able to seek His face and wait on Him, you must have time. Is God in a rush to do anything right this second?? If I am wrong, please post something here… But I can’t remember a time anywhere in the bible where Jesus hurried everyone and caused chaotic movement or thought amongst His people! Jesus is a man of peace!

Now, let’s look at the money issue. Throughout the bible and especially in the old testament, God lead people to give sacrificial offerings of what?… Of animals! In the New testament, again… animals. People also sacrificed their own desires, their own way, their own lives to follow Christ. Very few times was money mentioned as a sacrifice. One boy sacrificed his fish and loaf of bread and Jesus multiplied right then. Another woman sacrificed her last bit of flour and oil for a profet and God multiplied it then. The widow gave her last mite which is comparable to less than a penny. Jesus was sold for a bag of silver.

So, are ministries selling Jesus for bags of silver?? Watch and notice! If a particular ministry’s main message is about 100 people running up to the front of the church right NOW or down to the post office right NOW to give/send in $100.00 be careful!

Malichi 3:10 says if we tithe (give 10 %) God will open up the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing so much we can’t contain it! It’s not a requirement, but a promise! Anything you give above this is considered either an offering or a sacrifice.

Sacrifice does not have to be money! Sacrifice is whatever is hard for you to give up! Clay gave up drinking alcohol because when he drank, he liked it too much… He couldn’t stop! I don’t have this problem, but I have sacrificed it so that Clay will not be tempted.

Give as the Lord speaks to you! Sacrifice as the Lord speaks to you. Sacrifice yourself and your wordly desires for the cause of Christ! Use wisdom from the Holy Spirit and wait on the Lord! Don not be deceived by wolves in Sheep’s clothing!! Have a blessed Wednesday!!

Malachi 3:9-11

New International Version (NIV)

9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the LORD Almighty.
